More than 100 government officials, international organization officials, experts, scholars and business elites from 16 African countries along the Belt and Road region, i.e. China, Kenya, Egypt, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda and Zimbabwe, were invited to attend the meeting. 38 academic reports were delivered focusing on sustainable development issues such as agricultural and food system transformation, biodiversity conservation and utilization, water resources and environmental protection.
After the meeting, the attendees jointly launched the Initiative of Strengthening Belt and Road (China-Africa) Technology Innovation Cooperation to Promote Sustainable Development in Africa.
