CBD COP15│China-Africa Cooperation on Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Utilization

 The Fifteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP15) is held in Kunming, China and Montreal, Canada, in two phases. Phase one took place virtually, from 11 to 15 October 2021 and included a High-Level Segment from 12 to 13 October. 

Phase two is held in Montreal, Canada, from 7 to 19 December 2022. The United Nations Biodiversity Conference (COP15) ended in Montreal, Canada with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) to guide global action on nature through to 2030.


On Dec 19, China-Africa Cooperation on Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Utilization, Associate event of Convention on Biological Diversity-COP 15, was successfully held by SAJOREC and WBG, CAS both online and offline in Nairobi, Kenya and Wuhan, China respectively.


Invited by SAJOREC, Prof.Liu Jian, Director of the Science Division, UNEP and Dr. Erustus Kanga, Acting Directing General of Kenyan Wildlife Services, stated at the opening remarks. Following by Dr. Esther Kioko and Dr. Paul Musili from National Museum of Kenya presented their latest research progress and briefing the basic information of their institution. Prof.Hu Guangwan from WBG, CAS and Prof. Zhang Lu from Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology, CAS delivered their speech titled Plant Diversity in Eastern Africa and Protect Lake Biota Must Concern Aquatic Pollutants respectively.
